On the Future
I am definitely a lifer; my background reflects it greatly. And that is the thing about climbing: it is not just a sport. It is a way of life, and I embrace it. I don’t see that changing and I will climb as long as my body allows.
I have very distinct goals all the time that I am working toward, and I love the way it makes me live. Most of the days of the year I wake up with this on my mind, thinking, What am I going to do today to get one step closer?
These diverse goals test my skills and growth as a climber and athlete. It gets me outside in beautiful places, pushing myself.
On the long term, I simply want to keep on exploring the unique and extraordinary facets of climbing, and keep using it as a vehicle to experience the world.
Climbing has become a wave that sweep up more and more of my life. The wave is still breaking, and nearly every thread of my existence is swept up in it.
